Call to Artists: M. Hopple & Co., Cincinnati’s premier fine paper goods retailer, is proud to announce our ELEVENTH Annual CityArt Holiday Card Contest. This year, we have chosen the theme “Arts for the Holidays.” (See guidelines below.) Winning designs will be printed as part of the 2017 CityArt Holiday Card Collection. The collection will be sold at M. Hopple & Co., with a portion of the proceeds going to ArtsWave. ArtsWave, a non-profit serving the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Region, is the lead planner, promoter and fundraiser of the arts. ArtsWave was the first and continues to be largest community arts fund in the nation. Strong funding has allowed Cincinnati’s arts and culture scene to become a national draw and regional asset, creating a ripple effect of economic and community benefits. ArtsWave supports the work of over 100 arts organizations, school outreach programs, festivals, community centers, neighborhoods and various collaborations through impact-based grants. Art from this competition has been featured on local morning news shows and in numerous newspapers and media outlets in our region. Since 2006, over 24,000 CityArt cards have been sold. In honor of the tenth anniversary of the CityArt contest, we’ve asked FIVE TIME winner Kate Cassidy to choose this year’s theme and charity. A panel of judges will select up to four submissions from local artists. The winning designs will be printed as part of the 2016 CityArt Holiday Card Collection. The collection will be sold at M. Hopple & Co., with a portion of the proceeds going to SPCA of Cincinnati. First founded in 1873, SPCA Cincinnati is an animal shelter and humane society that continually strives to strengthen the human-animal bond and improve the welfare of animals by fostering the humane care and treatment of all animals. Through humane education and animal protection, they improve the quality of life in the Greater Cincinnati community. They have saved over 39,000 animals in the past five years, and the underlying work at SPCA Cincinnati is the philosophy that how a community treats its animals is a reflection of how its members treat each other. SPCA Cincinnati offers refuge, medical care, nourishment and a second chance for homeless animals; and they protect animals from cruelty, neglect, carelessness, ignorance and irresponsibility. SPCA Cincinnati also works to introduce animals into the lives of people in our community, including those in hospitals, nursing homes, children’s homes, and schools, and works with the victims of domestic violence to both provide shelter for their animals, and to help them rehabilitate.. Winning art from this competition has been featured on local morning news shows and in numerous newspapers and media outlets in our region. Since 2006, over 23,000 Holiday Cards have been sold.
This year’s theme guidelines:

Mhopple.com got a face lift!

Well here it is… our new website! For the past seven months our creative design team has been working like crazy ladies to pull our new, stylish website together. Our end goal was simply to provide you with the best “user experience” possible. With the help of our trusty and extremely patient web developer,  J. Chase Crafton,  we were able to bring our dream custom website to life.  It took many months (or an eternity in our minds) of planning, development, and lots and lots of trial and error moments to get this site ready for public release.  Thus, we are overly ecstatic to finally launch our new site and hope you love it as much as we do!

So what has changed and how does this affect you?

Our top priority has always been to focus on the audience that matters most…you, our M. Hopple & Co customers. We’ve worked hard to make every section of this site easier to read, organized and packed with content, so you can quickly find the information you want when you want it.  We hope we have delivered on this.

Besides the obvious revamped design and new watercolor branding, we also have a number of new features, including our very first online store (yay!), entire section dedicated to our awesome creative design team, and the ability to sign up to our customer newsletter (located at the bottom of the page).   Plus, we will be regularly updating our blog so you will always be in the loop on our Hopple Happening.
